Zig Zag 03:20
Zig Zag C G Am F I’ve got to zig zag like I’m drunk like I’m crazy as I walk through the mazy of these city streets And there are faces, some are clean, some are dirty, some are young, cute and flirty. That I want to meet. It is so sad when my day has no flavor Like a spice I should savor, but I only eat Still I walk on, feeling so uninspired Like my feet have retired and they’d rather sleep. Pre-chorus: G F Oh My, It’s getting way too clear I must get out of here Chorus: F G C And start a brand new day A little less lazy New Day… a lot more crazy When the morning sun, shines my way I’m going to wake to find, I’m one of a kind And say, I’ve got a brand new day Verse 2: I’ve been so down talking down in the gutter Though my heart’s all a flutter, stuck up in a tree How it got there, well I can’t quite remember But the fire’s now an ember, there’s not much to see I march on like a horse wearing blinders ‘cause I don’t want reminders of what used to be I question every step I am taking Since my ground has been shakin’ and it’s warning me Pre-chorus: G F Oh My, It’s getting way too dark I need to find my spark Chorus Bridge: G E7 Am F / G E F G There’s a shiver of sharks swimming up my spine No wonder I’m not walking in one straight line Have I been doing it wrong all this time I think I better change my mind And start a brand new (Drum solo) Chorus: And start a brand new day New day, new day, new day Start a brand new day A little less lazy New day A lot more crazy When the morning sun shines my way I’m going to wake up to find I’m one of a kind and say I’ve got a brand new day.

Fairy Tale 03:25
Fairy Tale Jane was just relaxing high up in a tree When Tarzan he swung over and said “Babe, I have to leave” The berries have been eaten and our river’s running dry So we need to find a new place to reside I’ll be back within a fortnight; it’s dangerous out there So I don’t want you to join me, I want you to stay here Well, she smiled at him sweetly as if everything were fine And then she packed up her things and grabbed a vine and said… Pre-chorus: If you go I go. If you fall I fall Chorus: If you go I go, If you fall I fall, ‘Cause every day with you, is a fairytale come true. Jack and Jill were climbing up a hill one day Just to fetch a pail of water and to then be on their way Jack fell down and broke his crown and that left poor Jill But she soon was tumbling down that very hill singing …. Pre-chorus: If you go I go. If you fall I fall Chorus: If you go I go, If you fall I fall, ‘Cause every day with you, is a fairytale come true. Bridge: Just like a nursery rhyme We start with once upon a time As the pages turn, the villains fall and we live happily ever after afterall. V3: I know I’m not a princess, nor will I ever be I know this love’s not perfect, but it’s the love for me So I’ll treasure every day I have and pray for one day more ‘Cause you’re the one that I adore Chorus

Nothing 03:11
Nothing Celia Rose 2005 (and Olivia Wik, 2014) V1: B / E / F# I wake up to a new day, a hundred thousand more heartbeats Struggle in the fight against the comfort of my sheets Well I feel nothing in the air today, it’s neither cool nor warm I see no trace of my smiling face, it’s the calm before the storm So I’ll go back to bed, not worry my head for there’s nothing left to do But smell your skin, watch you grin and snuggle up close to you For I know nothing’s more frustrating than this nothingness I feel At least, my dear, I have you near, and that is something real. Chorus: E / B / F# Baby you’re the something in my nothing When I close my eyes and want to hide away Honey, you’re the something that I hold onto ‘Cause baby, nothing’s better than you. V2: It’s easy to feel low in life when there’s no wind in your sail When it’s all for naught and your dreams get caught And all your work is to no avail But it’s not about the riches or being the biggest star Nothing’s better than someone loving you for who you are. Chorus Bridge: E / B / F# / E / C#m / F# There are no answers here, yeah that’s for sure But what I know is when that nothing comes a knockin’ at my door I won’t be sad, I won’t be scared, oh, I won’t be blue. As long as I can live out this life with you. Instrumental: B / E / F# Chorus (short ones) Chorus

Pieces of Love 7/19/02 V1 G When I was young, I wrote a poem about socks C9 G One about chocolate, one about pencils, one about clocks C9 G And I wrote a poem about cherry trees in the spring C9 G And one about pieces of love Chorus D C9 G Pieces of love were everywhere D C9 G In nook and cranny, on shelf and stair D C9 G As I found each one, I began to see C9 G D G That it was you who gave them to me V2 G When I started to write my own tune C9 G Sitting on the dog house, singing to the moon C9 G Sometimes I lay on the drive in the middle of the night C9 G And wrote about pieces of love Chorus Bridge: D C G It was you who read every word D C G It was you who listened and heard Em C D G If I needed to be alone, you let me be C G D G It was you who understood me. V3 If I wrote a new song and played it for you You listened with your eyes closed, and didn’t speak ‘til I was through As my song came to an end the first thing you said was…ok, now play it again. Chorus 2x (The song is based on this poem that I wrote when I was 12) A place where love is everywhere In nook and cranny on shelf and stair There’s laughter on the second floor A touch of glory by the door A bit of romance in my parents’ room A scrap of sorrow where we keep the broom Gobs of excitement here and there A pinch of fun by the rocking chair Chunks of caring wherever you roam That’s where I live and I call it home

Take Me 04:32
Take Me V1: With my eyes of green and your eyes of blue, we could see it so clearly Oh I knew it then, and you knew it, too. I still love you so dearly As the days slip by, ‘neath the summer sky I will not sit here lonely For I know that you, that you miss me, too. That I’m your one and only Pre-chorus: Far apart from the start with the crashing waves Telling us move on But your voice and your words, let me know, they’re wrong Chorus: Take me, take me forever Our fears will wash out to sea Take me, take me for always I will be yours faithfully Together is where we must be Take me V2: This is hard to do, some don’t make it through When the waters keep rising But you’re worth the fight, you’re worth every night That lies on the horizon. Pre-chorus Chorus Bridge: All this time that we have spent apart You have been here with me in my heart Chorus (soft) Chorus repeat last line 1x outro instrumental

Frozen Town 05:25
Frozen town V1 The night ran away with my heart in its teeth Now it’s fading like yesterday, with the ghosts of what cannot be All that we shared lies here in this room. All that we’ve loved lingers in the air like perfume, Chorus: And the night comes and night goes, these open wounds will never close As it all falls away in this frozen town V2 All I can see is an empty glass and your empty seat And all I can hear, is the ice cracking beneath my feet Chorus: And the night comes and the night goes, these open wounds will never close As it all falls away in this frozen town Bridge: All… All the statues look down, All the faces in town, surround They surround me, surround you, they knew us both as one not two Now they wonder, where we went wrong But it’s our choice, it’s our lives, it’s our turn to decide if it all falls away in this frozen town. V3 We loved with our hands, but our minds weren’t there We spoke icy words. They froze in the air. All I could hear was the snapping of the trees All I could see was a minefield of memories Chorus The night came and the night went, we said things that we never meant It all fell away in that frozen town.

Ten Thousand More Verse1 There was a time I thought we’d live forever, There was a time I thought I could fly There was a time I thought we’d always be together But that’s not now There was a time I skipped instead of walking, There was a time I floated on clouds But by the time I knew, there was no time for talking And that is now. Pre-chorus In this dream, no, this nightmare How can it be so unfair Love was supposed to see us through Now the ground is shaking, my heart is aching And I am missing you. Chorus I don’t want one day. I don’t want one night I want ten thousand more, I want us to be alright I don’t want one night. I don’t want one day I want ten thousand more. I want us to be ok. Verse2: There was a time I entered every room wearing my heart on my sleeve There was a time I looked into your eyes and totally believed There was a time my heart controlled my mind, but I really didn’t care I’ve put up a wall so I don’t feel it all ’cause it’s more than I can bear Pre-chorus Chorus Instrumental Pre-chorus Chorus (last line 4 times) Outro: There was a time I thought we’d live forever, There was a time I thought I could fly
8.
The Other Side Verse 1: My hands are cold, my grip is failing Too much longer and I will fall Ice is here and I am losing Pressed against this rocky wall Verse 2: Do you recall that golden ribbon It caught the wind and flew out to sea We imagined us upon it Flying high and flying free Chorus: Are you coming now to save me Or do I have to save myself You’re my eyes when I can’t see You’re the other side of me You’re the other side of me…. the other side Verse 3: I have always been your lookout You took my hand and we made it through Now I’m stumbling through the darkness Wondering, just where are you Chorus Bridge: Ohhhhhhhhhh. Some pain heals and is forgotten While some pain leaves a scar Youuuuuuuuuuuu. You and I can’t be divided ‘Cause no one knows you like I do. Chorus (2x)

Invictus 03:45
Invictus Out of the night that covers me, Black as the Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll. I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. (ending) I am the master of my fate I am the captain of my soul I am the one who can create The only one who has control And if I win, well then I win If I’m lost, just let me lose But do not think that I’ll give in ‘Cause that is something I can’t do

Open a Door 04:18
Open a Door V1: One little girl, just like the others Studied hard at school each day Then late at night, she sat on the roof top Watching the mountains and dreaming away V2: Then to her land came the Taliban They said girls can’t go to school But this little girl took a microphone She went and broke their golden rule pre-chorus: and spoke out loud to the crowd Chorus: Open a door to a world that you need to know Open a door to a place where you wish to be Open a door for the hope in a child’s mind Open a door for you and me. Open a door. V3: 15 years old, they tried to kill her shot in the head on her bus ride home But no one can kill, no one can stifle the voice of a girl that strong. pre-chorus: not only did she survive she won the nobel prize Chorus Bridge: When your moment comes will you pull the trigger a robot caught in a chain of command or when your moment comes will you be the forgiver the one to take a stand pre-chorus: we all should be free Chorus 2x Open a door and let the others follow you Open a door, open a door and walk on through

about

Zig Zag, Celia’s 4th full length album, is truly a bit here and there. It begins with a fun upbeat number about zig zagging through Times Square in New York City and it ends with a huge pop ballad about the story of Malala, the 15 year old girl who was shot by the Taliban and survived. In between you’ll hear about a Frozen Town, surviving long distance relationships, a story of love told through Fairy Tale characters and much more. Zig Zag was recorded at OCL Studios in Calgary with award winning producer, Spencer Cheyne and some of Canada’s most talented musicians.
